High idle after removing throttle body
High idle after removing throttle body
I took off the TB yesterday to replace the t-stat and when I put it back on and cranked the car it would idle at 15-1600 rpm in park and about 1000 in drive. I checked all the linkage and it looks fine. I'm pretty sure that the blades are closing all the way. Whats goin on here?

IROC,
If this is happening when the engine is cold, it can be normal. If the idle is that high on a warm engine, I'm guessing you have a vacuum leak or the IAC is sticking open.
Double check the gasket positioning, IAC connector, TPS connector, and vacuum line under the TB (to the EGR solenoid/EVAP canister).
Remove the TV cable if you have an automatic, and remove the cruise cable if equipped. Either one of these could be holdng the throttle open a bit.
