Engine dies when car is spun?
Got the car back from the tranny shop with a rebuilt tranny, and decided I'd do some minor corner carving to make up for lost time.
Me and my buddy went up to a desolate strip of windy road (Not a single car on it other than us) and were hitting the corners at upwards of 70, with ease. Nothing too fast, just to kill time really. Anyway, about half way around a corner, we noticed the street was covered in dirt, from the side of the road. I think my friend even said, "Here we go", sure enough the rear end came out, but I held the car for a long time, while it was sliding, before I turned the wheel to the left lock, to just spin the car around (We were on a big hill, and I didn't feel like driving off the cliff just yet
)
Anyway, I believe the car died right when it got completely sideways, and then it rolled back a little bit (Might have died when it rolled back in D, but both of us highly doubt that). We we're just curious as to how a TBI engine would die just by spinning the car like that.
Oh, and incase your wondering, we've decided to retire from that stretch of road, evidently thats a big problem there, and they clean the street every morning, because of it. Whoops!
Thanks

simple. I bet you had less that half a talk of gas and the g's pushed all of the gas to one side of the tank and the pickup ran dry. Has happened to me a few times as well. Nothing to be alarmed about.
