Car stalls when turning hard

Under pretty specific conditions my car will stall when i turn left or right (90degree turns usually).

I have been able to reproduce the stall 3 or 4 times after it happened the first time.

If i am braking and i turn before the car "finishes" slowing down the car will stall mid turn. If i shift to neutral it and turn the key it starts right back up.

If i turn smoothly, it doesnt stall.

Since its an instant stall, and it starts right back up, i thought maybe I had a wire shorting somewhere. I figured if it was fuel related I would get some sort of stutter before the stall, and it dont get that, the car just cuts out.

Ive been trying to troubleshoot this for awhile now, and I cant seem to find any bare wires, or wires that look like they could be shorting somewhere.

anyone have any ideas at all? I am totally lost

Sounds like ypu need to raise the float level in the carb. Your fuel must be sloshing around the bowl whilst you are making a hard turn, causing your engine to run out of fuel for an instant.

If you have a carb in that 84, that could be the problem. Float bowl. I had the same problem in a carbed car once : stalling on turns (left or right, don't remember). Replacing the carb solved the problem.

I thought i was carb at first but a friend of mine said he had a similar problem with a 78 trans am. It ended up being wires that were swinging around and touching the headers.

So this gives me an excuse to get a new carb
Im so sick of my 750 edelbrock anyway.
