TBI 305 cranks but won't start??
Cold morning...car cranked, turned over, stumbled bad, then died. Couldn't get it to do anything but crank after that. I hear the fuel pump prime when I turn key on. But what's weird, is that after I try to start (unsuccessfully) I hear the fuel pump continue to make noise for about 20-30 seconds after I turn the key off. Any ideas? Within the last few months I've had to replace the fuel pump & fuel filter, and I have a new battery. And I have had the typical code 32 (EGR) light for quite a while, just haven't had and trouble so I haven't fixed that yet. Could the EGR be a possible culprit? Any ideas??

Pull the lid off the air cleaner. Have someone crank the engine for you. Do you see fuel spray? Also, check for spark. If you have neither, you're looking at the pickup coil, or Ignition module. If you have spark but no fuel spray (and it sounds like your pump is working) you may still have a weak pickup coil. You may try sparying a bit of starting fluid into the TB and see if it starts.
The pump continuing to run is actually a good sign. It means that the oil pressure switch is seeing pressure, and turning the pump on, and it's staying on until the pressure drops back off...
