Little problem...
I have a little problem and I was wondering what you all thought:
Up here on cold days, the car doesn't quite run right. When the gas is applied to it, it sputters, but does, generally, rev up. This happens at idle and at rolling, sometimes with pronounced shaking in the car going down the road. After it's been driven for a while, the problem seems to clear up though... I'm no tech wiz, but it seems like it's not getting enough gas and therefore could be the fuel pump??? But that's why I'm asking you all here, so any input is appreciated!

Here's my quick shot at it, since I only played a bit with a 2bbl 2.8l carb...
The EFE grid between the carb and intake manifold could be beat up & not working. It's basically a heater grid that helps your fuel evaporate (Early Fuel Evaporation) better so the car runs better. This thing doubles as the gasket between the carb & intake. When I put a junkyard E2SE on a friend's '83 [edit: oops, had 84] Camaro, he needed to buy a new EFE grid. I think it was $30 or so?
Or, maybe the heat stove pipe has slipped off.. that's between your air cleaner "arm" and an exhaust manifold.
How's your fuel filter, by the way?

I also got a reccomendation to try gas line antifreeze to see if it would help at all, so I'll try it first, then take my car apart after
