burning smell when hard accel.

burning smell when hard accel.
This has been going on since i got my car last year, and just thought that it was maybe because cold out but it looks like it's not the weather. Now what could this be maybe the transmission or the engine and why would it smell? buring smell at that. can't really describe the smell just smells like buring and will only do it on hard accel., pedel to the floor

There's a LOT of possibilities here... Like something from the exhaust....maybe a clogged up cat would cause a smell like that...
My buddy's 65 Mustang has a burning smell every time he gets on it, but that's because his tran is dumping fluid out the overflow valve, which is placed directly above is header and h-pipe.
That said, it's probably more than likely coming from your exhaust.

See that's the thing i have no clue what the hell is could be. I thought maybe it could be maybe the trans. because 5th whines above 2000 rpm. But the smell is only there when i hard accel. So *** knows what the hell it is.
