leaking valve seals
hi guys! i have un problema...i recently replaced the stock heads on my 305 for those p/n xxxx416, the diference is great! but now i'm burning oil like hell, i believe i didn't install the exhaust valve seals properly, no matter how hard i finger-press on them they were still floating with the valve, should i've hammer the crap out of them? or should i go with a diferent p/n? the only p/n i did get were those all white plastic ones that no one thrust.
1-any better p/n similar to the intake ones?
2-can it be done w/out removing the heads?
3-should the pistons be @ tdc or bdc?
thanks everyone! fernando.

Sounds like maybe you got the wrong ones...
They make 2 sizes: .530" for stock diameter valve guides, and .500" for valve guides that have been milled down. Used to be, all you could get was the .500" ones; the others are a relatively new thing. Sounds to me like you got those but your heads have been set up for the others.
Crane and Comp both have the right thing available. The white Teflon ones are the best ones made so that's not the problem, you should get the same type just the .530" inner diameter. It can be done with the heads on the motor, either with air pressure, or by putting the piston at TDC and stuffing the cylinder full of rope.
