Fumes coming from Breathers

Put the PCV back in and you won't have that problem.

What he said. But the fumes is absolutely normal. The PCV system vents pressure from the crankcase and recirculates it back into the engine. So those vapors, you don't see those with PCV because they're just shooting right back into the intake. With breathers, you're going to get that venting action. The only downside to breathers as opposed to a PCV system, is that PCV actually pushes fresh air in through one side of the crankcase and circulates it through. Breathers don't push that fresh air, they just keep a pressure-buildup from occurring.

That's what the PCV is for; to suck the fumes back into the engine and burn them.

Put the car back together right and you won't have the mess.
