Really strange sound need help!!

Ok so heres the deal.... I drive a 95 Firebird 3.4L standard tranny. My baby needed a new transmission mount the stock one is hydraulic but because of the price of that I decided it would be smarter to go with the Energy Suspension uerthane mount.. they last forever and are a whole lot cheaper. GM uses this mount on a whole lot of newer cars, supposedly. So anyways my boyfriend says no big deal he does it for me today with no problems until he fires her up. Basically it sounds like I am running no exhaust at all. Something is vibrating REALLY hard. I think it could be the driveshaft or that the clutch is vibrating. I am thinking it could need a new U joint. Honestly it baffles anyone I talk too. Like someone on here has had to have changed their tranny mount to the solid type. I would really appreciate any help I could get.
Thanks, Krystal aka cargurl

Transmission: a hamster wheel
check too see if the exhaust is hitting the floorpan or something, the new mount may have raised the tranny up (along with the engine)

I thought I had searched the site but I guess not. Everyone has their own opinion on what it could be.. some say my driveshaft is out of alignment and some say that a shim needs to be removed??? I dunno. As long as I can still get to work and back until after the holidays I will have to live with it.

Does it vibrate in neutral and in gear? how about sitting still vs moving? does the noise change as you rev the engine? i think it may be something exhaust related, maybe a clamp got knocked loose while changing the mount?

if your problem started after the repair to the trans mount it's a safe bet the noise is related to the repair and the trans mount. that's where i'd start looking.

The noise is the exact same when the car is out of gear and when its in... that is why I have ruled out the driveshaft obviously. But it could be the clutch too... could be shattering or could just be rattling. But the noise only happened after the mount and I can't imagine the old one disguising it that good. And the noise gets louder and louder the more I rev it... and you can really feel it in the floorboards. It sounds like exhaust but I didn't think that the mount changed the height enough to disrupt it??? I am going to try and lift it up all the way around tomorrow and see if I can figure it out.. it is scary though the noise lol. Thanks a lot for the help and I will keep you posted

Well after a couple of hours in the cold I think we may have stumbbled into the problem... after all that worrying we THINK its just a bad plug. So I might gain some power from the problem haha. I guess the old mount was just disguising the problem enough for me to not notice it. I am going to change the plugs tomorrow and if that doesn't change it I will put it on a diagnostics and see what that tells me. Could be a bad ignition coil too. It is firing just weakly. Just glad its nothing like a bad valve or hole in piston I will let you all know tomorrow!

Ya I guess its just the mount... thank ***... he said v6's are just noisy and that is why GM put a hydraulic one in it in the first place. So thats good!!!
