the best: puting a posi disc rear in my 91 rs went smooth and love having reAL brakes.
the worst: head gaskets! made the mistake of not just pulling the whole engine. its so tight to do anything, god it was awful . i ended up losing my cool and letting the car sit half done for a month. i didnt even want to look at it haha.

Heater core should only take a hr or so.
I've had my car to a bare shell and back up running in 3 months. Have done a few others too

Best:
Started up my 305 for my friend to let him hear the rod knock, 1 hour and 40 mins later the engine and trans were on the driveway.
Last week I got my 350 back and dropped it back in. Started at 10:30 AM, I drove it around the block at 9:30 that night.... all went great till I got a flat tire on my first drive around the block
T5 Swap in my 83, much smoother than expected.
Worst:
Just finished doin a header swap (TES) in my friend's 88 Formula 350 TPI, took over 2 days to do.... what a PITA.
And I will highly second that!!

Re: Best and Worst Repairs
Best repair: rebuilding my T5 and a 350 to swap in.
Worst repair: It's a tie. First is when I was laying in my friend's garage floor holding a long rubber hose in the side of his trans to fill it with gear oil when the other end of the hose came off the funnel, dumping almost an entire quart of gear oil on my chest. Second is when I thought I had a rod knock on my rebuilt 350, only to find it was just a bent pushrod. AFTER pulling the engine and tearing it completely apart. I let the car sit for almost 2 years I was so pissed!
