If you never did it before, it will kick your @ss. You have to remove the muffler, drop the rear end considerably, then remove the tank.

The filler neck is a pain to come out because of the sheet metal lip that is under the neck where you screw the cap on to. We cut about 1/4" of the lip out and it made it much easier to stick the neck back through the hole and gave more room to twist and maneuver the tank back into the car. That lip caused the biggest problem when trying to get the tank out. If you can bend or cut a piece of that lip down or off it will help. I've heard of others having the same problem. Two people is a big help.

Well it was kinda fun and tedious for me. My girlfriend helped me out AND YES my girlfriend. She wanted to get a basic idea of what i was doing. She helped by handing me tools and one time holding the tank while i jiggled it out. Some people say they had to cut the exhaust pipes all i did was oil up the the bolts at the Cat and removed it from the front. Good luck and have fun.

I did what Highwind said... I raised the butt of the car high in the air, dropped the axle to the ground, and unbolted the cat-back exhaust from the cat. I had to fight a bent bolt in the track bar brace (highest rear suspension cross-piece), but other than that, the job was "technically" easy, but "annoyingly" hard.

Mine has the noise of a healthy buzzzz or hum. A few days before it died, it started to sound weak, almost "sick"... sort of like it was gurgling or stuttering.

When mine died...it just left me stranded. Ran fine the day before (no unusual sounds), went to start it the next day and NOTHING...just crank and crank. Stopped, turned the key on (specifically listening for the "hummm" for 2 seconds...nothing). Knew I it was most likely the fuel pump, and it was.

Make sure your fuel filter is OK before you go to the trouble of pulling your tank. Sometimes a clogged filter will make the pump more noisey.
