car will not start

car will not start
92 camaro 5.7 5speed

the timing belt moves slow, and i hear i rattle sound when i try to start it(rattle sound comes from the motor). battery is good and starter is good and timing blet is in good shape (ANY TIPS?)

rattling sound? that could be your starter clicking which means its not getting enough juice to start your motor, get a voltage meter and test the power going into the starter/seloniode

i think you need to take another look there isn't a timing belt to be good or bad let alone move.

maybe he means the serpentine belt.

BTW 33, did you put that 350(5.7) in place of a 305(5.0) or did you put the 5 speed in place of a 700R4?

when i took it to the shop last, one of the auto techs said it sounds like a broken crankshaft (they did not do any test on it, it was only a guess),but if there was a broken crank why does the belt still move on the front of the motor ?

Find another "technician" - One that will actually remove the inspection cover from the bellhousing and find the problem, rather than guess. Snapped cranks in anything but Dodge V-10s are pretty rare.
