Csi??!?
I HAVE AN 88 305 TBI, AND WHEN IT GETS VERY COLD... SINGLE DIGITS... THE RPM JUMPS ALLOVER THE PLACE AND THE CAR STUTTERS AND EVEN STALLS OUT OCCASIONALY... WHEN IT IS SLIGHTLY WARMER, 25-30 DEGREES, THE CAR IS FINE, JUST WHEN IT GETS REALLY COLD IT DOES THIS... THE CAR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE WHEN IT IS DOING THIS. I HAD A FREIND TELL ME THE COLD START INJECTOR COULD CAUSE THIS, BUT I DON'T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT TBI....? ALSO, ANYTIME IT IS COLD, I HAVE TO HOLD THE GAS DOWN WHEN I START THE CAR OTHERWISE IT WILL TURN OVER START FOR A SECOND AND THEN DIE... I DON'T KNOW IF THAT IS RELATED, ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED, THANKS ALOT

sorry about the capssomething i forgot to mention was the fact that it really doesn't start to do this fluttering until it is warm, which leads me to think a sensor of some sort, now keep in mind that when i say flutter, i mean it can jump from 2 grand to 4 and a half grand in half a second and then back, the engine doesn't rev up that high, but it does sputter and occasionally stall out, like i said. So any ideas on what sensor this could be? I have no codes, and also, it's only when it's viciously cold out.... like 6F, which it has been up here lately. Also I have an open element air filter so I suppose the sensor in the intake could be quite vulnerable to freezing air, i dunno, just an idea, any thoughts would be great.
(about the temp... the reason i know it only does it when it is this cold out is because we had 3 days of single digit temps and it was doing this, then we had 2 days in the 30s and it was fine, now its back to single digits and its doing it again.)

I am having the same problem, but I live in AZ and it does not get that cold here. The coldest it gets in the morning when I go to work is 60. But this problems happens all day long for me.
