My car is almost finished....

While I was home my car got a serious makeover. It's not quite done, but it's getting there. I repainted it, and will post pics of the paint a little later in the appearance boards.

The 355 is in, but still needs the accessories to be installed. Odds and ends are hard to find in Hawaii so I was not able to get the trans in although it is just sitting there, painted and sporting the Pro-Built rebuild kit and a Vigilante converter.

I also made a custom door to access the fuel pump at any time by just lifting up the carpet in the rear and unscrewing a few screws. That way the tank does not always have to be dropped. I am not sure if anyone has thought of that.

On the hoist....

Painted the headers with Eastwood High temp header paint. If you can't afford the jet hot or whatever, get this stuff, it doesn't peel.

Yeah, I like silver. Most guys either paint thier motors black or a hideous color. I decided to do all of the block and stuff silver and the sheetmetal parts ( minus the oil pan) black. I think the combination of the timing cover, valve covers, and harmonic balancer cover being black really sets it off. Plus the water pump is painted black and all the pulleys got a fresh coat of gloss blakc too.

The headers are Hooker competition shorties with a 2.5 inch Y pipe I made myself. The welds are thick and ugly but I had to use a plasma cutter to cut the pipes and my other tools were limited. None the less it came out with no leaks and is 2.5 inch per side and goes into a Flowmaster Y collector and then into the 3 inch intermediate.

It sounded AWESOME on my 305. I can't even fathom what it will sound like on the new roided out motor. It used to sound like a speed boat. Not sure what it's gonna sound like now, Tractor Pull??? LOL
