victor jr or performer rpm

all right people help me make up my mind. i have a 405 with dart 215cc heads about 9.8 to 1 compression. i've got a comp .525 lift 248* solid lifter cam. th350 tranny with 3.55 gears in a moser rear. its got a 2400 stall in it now but i've got a 3000 stall in the garage.i use a 100 hp shot at the track. which manifold would be the best for me?i've been told the victor would be better but the crate engines you see all have the rpm. i'm confused, help me

Witht the duration of your cam, the victor is the clear and obvious choice with your "package" and I would definatley swap in the 3000 convertor since you have it. If you were down in the 230 duration then the rpm dual plane would be the best choice since that kind of grind is better suited for low-mid rpm power.

Again, your cam duration suggests to me an rpm range of around 2500-6500 somewhere in there give or take a few hundred rpm if necessary. By using the dual plane you may be able to pick up alittle more low end grunt, but it will not be able to make the power on top in your cams rpm actual power range as the victor could. If you decide to use the dual plane try to use at least a 1" 4 hole to make it think it's bigger than it really is, with the victor I would use a 4 hole 1-2" to help it a little on the low end also. When it comes to spacers they are a trail and error to see what does what since everybodies engines react differently.
But the fact you going to use a 100 shot is going to raise the rpms in a hurry, the 3000 convertor is effectively going to start you out higher in the higher in the rpm range so trying to focus on idle to 2 or 2500 is pretty much pointless with your combintation.
With your parts you have and reading into what your going to do with them, you'll be better off with the victor jr. for the operating range of the motor.

I have a magazine article I will scan for you that dynos the victor jr. vs RPM, i cant remeber the specs on the motor, but the victor didnt lack much, but made a decent top end increase.

Magazine aside, like everyone said, running that profile cam would call for the victor jr.

Im looking for that mag...

The reason the victor jr does not lose as much down low is due to the short runner design since it helps keep the velocity that is usually lost by a longer runner intake at low rpm such as the super victor, tunnel rams, darts, brodix, etc..

if you had less cam and head i would strongly suggest the rpm but your combo shows to only loose 7ft-lbs of tq and a gain of 18hp on top using the victor opposed to the rpm,so its clear to me the victor would be the better choice for your combo..

Since I couldnt find my article fast, Im cataloging all my magazines. Putting them all on a spreadsheet with what articles are included. Then numbering each one so when I need to find an article I can open my spreadsheet and do a word search, so I can instantly see what mags have articles about what I am reseaching.

I feel kinda nerdy, but at least it has to do with being able to find articles, buildups, and dynos faster..:lala:
