When i got my car the guy i bought it from did all kinds of under the hood mods and with all his experience and things hes done he doesn't not understand cruise control. The linkage cable is there but i don't know exactly how to reattach it. I have a general idea where on the carberator it has to be attached but the linkage doesn't reach any of the holes. Could someone shed some light.
its a Rochester quadrajet carb if thats any help. im gonna eventually (by summer) put a Holley carb in cause i love my brothers he has in his mustang but for now i would like the cruise function to work since it is present...sorta.

 

Good luck, I've got a 79 z28 and the cruise hardley ever works. I'll have a look at the carb to cruise cable set-up when I get off work. If I can, I'll take a pic and email it to you.

The cruise control is the orginal to the car. its the engine and carberator that is from 78. its all about hooking them up that is the problem
