Engine: L98
Transmission: 700r4
EGR Valve Removal and Purpose?
I have an 84 Z 28, with the L69. I just bought the car. The previous owner has the emissions stuff totally screwed up. Car runs fine, but the check engine light always comes on. Air pump is disconnected, vaccum lines are very screwy and I live in a place where emissions aren't required.
What happens if I remove the EGR valve all together?
If something is altered, what can I do to compensate, new carb, intake, doesn't matter, just looking for pointers.
What is the EGR valve's purpose and how is it supposed to work?
