How the heck do you get the crank pulley off???
Its like, the last thing I have to remove so I can swap in my new cam, and I can't get it off. Whenever I put a wrench on ANY of the bolts, it rotates the engine, how do I stop this or what do I do to get the crank pulley off?

Dan,get under your car and take off the
cover of the converter- flywheel ( 4 bolts ).
Take a screwdriver and lock the starter ring gear on the flywheel, then you can remove the
pulley.
Or if you have a strong buddy to help you,
he can hold the pulley with the help of a towel or something to get a good grip on the
pulley, and then you remove the bolts, but
he better be strong because it´s hard to do it that way
Good luck.

Here is a suggestion, use an impact wrench. It won't turn the engine. I once put pulleys on a rustang and that was the only way I could get it off. Hope this helps.

I always use the old 'long screw driver in the flex plate' trick too.

You can also hit the end of the rachet with a hammer. This acts like an impact gun only you can brake stuff alot easier...

if none of those techniques work, they do make pulley pullers, which i think sell for around $20,
by the way could you email me and tell me how putting the new cam in works out for you, i just installed a summitt cam, lifters, and timing chain. well we got the engine all back together, it started right up and broke in the cam. the next day it took about 2 hrs. to get it started and it stalled out. well that was 3 weeks ago and still nothing, but oh well i am dropping a 350 in it. that better start.

Go with NC's suggestion. A good 1/2" impact wrench will succeed probably about 99 percent of the time. Also remember that the center balancer retaining bolt also holds the pulley on some engines.
