Puff of smoke
just curious ole bess(1991 Z28 5.7) and she is cherry, but every once in a while, not all the time after she has been run for awhile and then let her sit for about 2-4hrs and go out and start her up she will belch a mostly whit but a little blue cloud I dont quit understand because it does not do it all the time any one have the same thing or any ideas were to start one more if you stroke the engine to a 355 I suspect the chip has to be programmed to the new cam lift and duration fuel timing etc does any one do this that is reputable.

Most likely if it's a light blue it is the valve seals/guides. Not a problem unless it's using alot of oil. It's common.
355 is a bored 350 not stroked. This is done to rebuild a 350, not for additional power. A new chip won't be required.

82 is right, the smoke is almost certainly the valve seals, which can be replaced with the heads still on the car. For an experienced person it's about 3-4 hour job from drive-in to drive-out. It's certainly not the kind of problem that requires a rebuild to fix, if everything else about the motor is OK.
