VATS, STARTER, or FUSIBLE LINK
VATS, STARTER, or FUSIBLE LINK
Alright, my car won't start. Turn the key, nothing, nothing at all. No cranking, nada. Battery seems to be fine, the fan will turn on with ease, and all lights work.
My question is, could this be just the starter? Or could it be ignition switch, vats, or fusible link to starter? Also, how could I bypass the vats?
thanks in advance.

For starters, (pardon the pun
) check and see if the starter is getting power on the signal wire when you turn the key to crank.
If you've got power down there, its the starter.
If you don't, it could be the VATS, n/safety switch, ignition switch, etc.
Ay least this way you know which direction to look.

Could be something as simple as dirty wire terminals... happened to me. Every now and then it would just decide not to start. Last time it happened I reached up to the solenoid wires on the starter, gave 'em a little wiggle and varoom! I got it home, disconnected all starter and battery terminals and cleaned them up and haven't had a problem since...

Well, sure enough, it was the starter. Got a $100 one and swapped it in, and boy does it start quick now. It used to take a while to crank, and then it would start. Now it starts right up.
As for selling the car, yes it is still for sale. Sorry for not responding, I've got about 100 messages in my inbox regarding it and still haven't gotten to many of the messages. As I speak today, I've agreed to sell it for $2900.
