puting oil in threw dist. hole???

Hey guys I was filling my motor up with oil and it was on the stand and i was liek hmm i will just do it threw the distributor hole cuase it goes right in the valley so no big deal right. But they i got to thinking, It would have nowhere to go and probably store liek a quat of oil in the hole be4 it overflowed into the valley right?? Is this something I should worry abut or no big deal??
