Realy need help

Realy need help

i was racing this civic today and my tranny was low on fluid, so it didnt shift right and i think i overrevved it, nows its hard to start, overheats in like seconds just idleing and makes a wierd noise from below the alternator, what chuold have gone wronge?

It could be a million things. How hgih did it rev? You could have broke something in your valvetrain would be my geuss. Pull a vale cover and check. You will also want to pull your pushrods because overreving usually ends up with a few bent ones.

sounds like a valve took a dump on ya cause it coudlnt handle the fast pace of the high rev would explain your sound problem.

i would fear for your timing chain/gear as well.. that would explain both the sound and the hard starting issue

the heating issue points me to a thermostat not opening/have you even check your fluid? if it got hot it could have exploded the radiatror cap or leaked out the overflow...

i'd say ya over revv'd it and jumped time a little. probly sheared a few teeth off the timing set, 280,000 miles... i would not trust that ****.

i'm pretty sure 305s are free wheeling engines so you might have gotten lucky and not messed it up to bad.

what were you racing a Civic for anyway. not even worth the gas.

not this one

this was supposidly the fastest civic around here, i jumped 1 car lenght at the start and it stayed like that till i let off the gas so i didnt blow up, i guess my addrenaline was going and i forgot she has 280k
