My starter wires are cut!!!!!
What can I do about this, the mechanic that took my other motor out cut the wires because he was to lazy to remove them from the starter! I thought I needed to check the wires when I got home from work and sure enough they were cut, I plan to inspect everything when I have more daylight to work with like this weekend to see if there is any more dammage to other wires. This puts a kink in my motor installation. What should I do?!?
P.S. That is why I ended up taking my 383 to someone else to build because he was screwing me around on that too.
P.S.S. A friend of mine says I need to shoot the mechanic (Bust a cap in his ***)

Mike,
I hope your friend will send you lots of nice letters in jail. Maybe he'd be a REAL friend and do the time for you...
Don't get upset about the mechanic, get even. If you already have your engine back from him, you have nothing to lose. Take some photos to a dealer repair center, get an estimate for repair of the damage, and ask him to pay the bill. If he refuses, ask him to refund it from your bill. If that gets nowhere, and you feel strongly about it, take him to small claims court. You don't need an attorney for the amount of damages you would likely be getting. More likely than not the mechanic would settle with you as soon as he receives the subpeona/summons. It would be better for him to pay up as opposed to risk losing both the judgement and a full day of work.
Proper repair would involve replacing the positive battery lead, fusible links, and control wires, and sealing them against corrosion. Soldering the control wires and fusible links is a necessity for a reliable repair.
