Will GM 350 work w/ my 700R4

I am putting in a 350, i was wondering if my stock 700R4 tranny be able to handle it, the motor is only rated at 249 hp.

it should handle it. That's what GM put behind their 350's.

What year is your car? Is it an 8 or a 6?

The six cylinder 700r4 won't work with a v8.

If you have a v8 now, I wouldn't worry, it should hold it fine.

Where is the proof that a stock 700r4 can handle up to 350hp? Just wondering. Thanks

I imagine anyone that took a stock f-body and through in a 300+ hp engine, used there 700r4 tranny. So they are the proof.

Are you sure its not the 250hp engine? I hear those eat up 700R4s.....if its only rated at 249 hp you should be ok though- maybe....
