What plugs for L98 with vortec?

I have a new L98 short block, and a set of vortec heads to put on it. I'm running a near stock TPI cam with a 52mm TB. I wanted to see what heat range plugs you guys are running with similar setups. Thanks

use ac delco R43LTS plugs...

or even the hotter R44LTS's either way you NEED the LTS at the end for the vortec ehads..

the standard third gen TS plugs dont' extend out of the head.. the electrode isn't even protruding intot the chamber

Thanks for the plug info. I know about the after market base manifold, but If there are any other "need to know" tricks for the change over please jump right right in.

as long as you run the long reach extended tip spark plugs (the LTS designation) you've got the plugs covered.. if you'r running a vortec intake.. you've got that covered. normal headers will bolt up. other than that. unless you put guide plates in with screw in studs you will need self aligning rocker arms, stay with the 1.5 ratio and avoid the temptation of 1.6's.. unless the cam is excesivly mild

The L98 was run in a car for 8000 miles or so, and the cam is a melling replacement unit. Lift is only 410 and 427 with 1.5's. 1.6's bump it up to 438 and 456. I would rather choose my cam specs, but my wife insists that some of our money go to food and the house payment. What ever. I was planning on getting a set of 1.6's since the cam is so close to stock, and I shouldn't be any where close to over doing it on the valve springs with those #s. At least that was what I was thinking today

I'm fixing to have about the same set up. What kind of gap do we need on the AC R43LTS?

Ah, I'm glad this came up. I also have Vortec (062) heads, and I just reused my old header plugs (short outer plug tip to clear headers). They were from Autozone, for my 305 (LG4), I just gave them my engine and they gave me the box of plugs. Didnt even think about checking for differences in plug numbers, hell i dont even know the numbers of my plugs I have now. They are Accel's.
So what I am gathering from this is that these are probably less than optimal for the Vortec heads? I wonder if this is half my problem of why its not running right?
