fan switch q's

The people before me decided to hardwire the single fan to the ignition on my 86 z lb9. This is fine for the summer but for the winter in ohio, it takes far too long to warm up. Any idea what these guys did? Is there a chance i can change it back to the stock setup? What should i look for to re-wire it back to stock? Any idea on the on/off temps as well? -thanks
