After swapping out the CC carb and dist I'm having strange shifting problems. The lower gears shift in what seems to be about the normal RPM range but they feel hesitant. If I'm accelerating grand ma style it will go in to 4th no problem but when it hits around 60 mph it goes back down to third. If I'm accelerating as if to get on to the highway it stays in 4th until I back off the accelerator then it shiftf down to third. Once I'm back down to 55 or so it goes back in to 4th. If I'm running around 80 and above it seems to stay in 4th. WTF! I've tried adjusting the TV cable but I don't think I'm doing it correctly 'cus I'm not getting any ratcheting(sp?) when I move the throt linkage to WOT. Any ideas?? I'm having a problem getting the carb to idle below about 800 rpm too and haven't found any vacuum leaks and I'm running around 17 on the vacuum gauge. I'm thinking it's two different problems. I gotta get this fixed 'cus it's our only car and I'm leaving for six months. HELP!

 

Just tried the TV cable adjust again and finally figered out that I was pulling on the wrong part of the cable before . I'll try running it later this evening.

Just think, yesterday I cudnt even spell raider tecknishion and now I are one!

One thought, does disconnecting the 4 pin connector on the original cc distributer effect the transmission in any way??

 

Looks like the cable adjust worked...(turning blue while holding breath)...
