400 sbc pulley setups

OK,
I have a 406cid motor. All the pulleys from the 305 I had in the car were transffered to it. I since removed the smog and a/c pumps and am now left with pulleys that have extra grooves not being used etc etc. I only need a pulley for the Alt, long water pump and PS. What setup are you guys using? I have a serpentive belt and a regular PS belt. I need to clean up the ebay. Any advice would sure help. If I forgot to mention something please tell me. Thanks.

just look for a donor SBC or 90*v6 and take everything off it. it'll save you a lot of time and agrivation if you get everything from one engine.

Ede already answered the question...go to a donor serp car and do the complete swap...

Is there another question in here somewhere that I missed?

Be sure which water pump you have. I believe all serpentine pumps turn reverse of a V-belt pump. If it is a smooth pulley on the pump it is ment to drive on the back side of the belt or reverse of the V-belt pump. Not sure of the setups which used both belts---anyone know for sure???

I will check on the pump issue. I was hoping to upgrade my pulleys as well, not just swap them out from another SBC. I dont really need more hp as my motor has enough already, but I would like a better pulley system. I understood what ede was saying. When I dont fully understand how something works I like to get more than one opinion.
