Head Gasket Q?

Anyone running the Fel-Pro 375-1094:
Embossed Shim
Bore: 4.100''
Compressed Thickness: .015''

??

I am about to start putting the 355 back together, and am yet to see what the deck heights is, but if its what I think it is (.025"), then I was gonna see if these gaskets are any good cause they would get me at the magic .040" quench.

Anybody used them or know anything about them?

I know are quite a bit cheaper than other head gaskets, so that has me sceptical.

I didn't think of them as "cheap", however.

They 're fine. they cost less cause they are easier to make.

As lon as your block and heads are clean and flat
and you can use a torque wrench, you won't have a problem with these gaskets. been using shim style gaskets for years.

Thanks guys. I didn't mean to infer they were cheap or anything. There are some products that you can tell how well they are made, or how they will hold up depending on price, and I didn't think these gaskets would be like that, but I thought I would make sure.

Sweet, I am planning on running these like I said, and its good to hear good things about them.

Yes the block and heads are flat. The heads were milled .002" to ensure flatness, and the block is going to be checked in the next month for flatness as well. Torque wrench is a must IMO, so that will be there for everything in the install.

I am trying the same things as I need to up compression of H345NP40 Federal Mogul pistons:

Shaving 76 cc heads .020 as well about a .046 change, which CNC shop machine shop paper said it would change 1cc for ever .059 change.

Hope it works for you and me, just my input and Fel Pro products have never let me down in past.

Any problems, please let us all know as I will as well, but 50 dollars and only .020 off heads was a better price then shaving heads more and as you said thinner gasket will get a .040 quench with 1.560 CH pistons.

Trying to locate a intake with out exhaust crossovers as well for a 90s head and aluminum manifold, but I am going to sell 3701 manifold and go to a non-180 degree manifold.
