Depends.
If you are getting one made like the factory roller, just the lobe profiles.
If you are getting one like the pre-factory roller, the timing sprocket mounting and anti-walk provisions. And lobe profiles.

Really?
Hydraulics use different ramps than solids. Could you quote what Comp is saying that indicates they say you can use solid roller lifters on a cam made for hydraulic roller lifters?

I will give them a call again, or better yet I will ask them in an e-mail so I can just past it here. the only problem is they like to say differant things every time you talk to them.

well, this is my last responce...
I wouldnt recommend using solid rollers on a hydraulic roller cam, but you could probably get away with it.... what are the specs on the cam?
Thanks
Andrew

Car Craft did it and tested it, and it did work, they went from hyd. to the endur-x lifters and found no power gain, even when they played with the lash, moving it all the way to zero even. But in theory, the lash will make your cam a little smaller. And then they said they didn't reccomend it either.

as ive heard it:
technically you CAN run them, but the lash and such has to be set very precisely. do a search, this topic has been beat to death. If it were my choice, i would not use hyd. roller components on solid roller cams and vice versa. Like five7 stated, the ramp rates are different.

I was looking for some one who would say it would damage things. oh well. I know someone who is doing this and I told him not to several times but, he does not listen. I guess I will just see what he wrecks when his already high lift cam .510 or more hits coil bind after his 1.6 ratio rockers are used with the solid lifters. plus he has a hard time with lashing as it is
