I've heard about these on IROC's. What is it?

1986 IROC LG4 "Bone Stock" (for now)

 

It's also known as a steering brace, and you can just get an aftermarket one or one from a junkyard if you want. It's a bar that bolts to the steering box and braces it against the frame on the passenger side of the car.
