Grrrrrr...stuck valves..old timers?

Yeah..in the flathead 6 I'm gonna put in my 3rdgen project..yeah, that's it...gonna put it in a 3rdgen...

How the heck can I get these out? Been loading the guides up with PB Blaster.

Any tricks I don't know of? I can't get the adjusters out, since all but two of the valves are closed, can't rotate the cam, since the valves are stuck in the danged block.

Thinking of chopping the cam up and taking it out in pieces, pulling the followers, and driving them out.

Might run this in my, er, uh 3rdgen for a year or two, then if it runs well, put it back in the forklift I just stumbled across

Well I would suggest a torch to heat it up, but not after kerosene...they may come out and never be seen again.

hose the valve down with some r134, it'll shrink them up a little and maybe break them free. BFH might work if the cam was out of the way.

Both liquid wrench and break-free (or break-away) are great penetrants.
I left a frozen part soaking in diesel for 6 mo and still couldn't break it loose then tried break-free and it came loose effortlessly within minutes.
Is that flathead going to be EFI or carb?

Yeah, gonna keep soaking down the stems, thanks for the replies.

Can't get the dang cam out until the valves are up.

EFI or carb? Guess I'll stick with the 1bbl for now...after all, who needs more than 105HP?
