I know you can put aftermarket roller cams into an older 350 block, but can you put factory roller cams like the LT4 cam into an old 350 block and use conversion lifters and a cam button?? I want to put one in my girlfriends T/a because it goes through hydrualic cams about once every 6 months, tired of having break in problems and worn out lobes.

You can use one if you use the late-model timing set and some sort of something to simulate the thickness of the retainer plate, and of course a cam button.

If the block eats cams, it probably has The Lifter Bore Problem, where some of the lifter bores don't point at the cam like they're supposed to. Don't count on a roller cam necessarily fixing it (although it might as long as they're all at least perpendicular to the cam axis).

Yup you can use 'em....but you still need the retro fit roller lifters. Lingenfelter sells the stuff you need for the cam install....

And if it's eaten that many cams, you more than likely have other issues to worry about, as stated.

if its eating cams, would you assume the lifters are sticking?

About the Lifter Bore Problem..
Is there a backyard method of checking that?
Or does it need to be checked at a machine shop?
Is it one lifter bore in particular?

Thx
