Ok all my litttle quirks are finished and the car runs fine. I still need to run the car on Winaldl and see what going on with it but that a differernt post..I have no idea how to use it...once I get the data I can take it over to the guy who did my chip and he will edit it or fix whats not right...
My question is:
when I finished all the work on the motor I drained the old oil and put in some cheap oil.........Ive only ran about 40 miles on it....should I change it out now or wait? When can I put my Mobil one back in it? Im going to run some of that motor flush anf then change the oil..so its gets all the stuff out that might have loosened up..
I used to run mobil 15/50.......what should I run? 10/40 or what?
whats the difference?

You can probably run thinner oil on the new motor. It'll free up a little extra power and well, it's not old, so it doesnt need thicker oil that'll stay behind the rings better. Plus, quicker top-end lubrication. My personal opinion is, I wouldnt switch to synthetic for about 1000 miles. That'll give the rings plenty of time to seat properly.... Some motors seat really quick but from my own personal experience...my motor burnt oil for about 800 miles til the rings finally set. I have a feeling they werent broken in properly initially. But it hasnt burnt a drop since.

The motor is far from new....134000 and counting...the motor doesnt burn oil never did. I have no idea why I was running 15/50 ...would it be ok to run 10/40 ..or something else? whats the 15/0 for anyways? its thicker?...

Ohh sorry...the way you said it, I assumed you'd just rebuilt the motor. 10-40 will probably be fine. 15/50 is thicker if I remember right.
Why did you flush the motor? What happened?
