Poly motor mounts, need a tranny mount too?

Hey all
I bought poly engine mounts to help the header install go a little more smoothly, and the guy at the speedshop said I should buy the tranny mount too. He said this because the motor won't be moving around as much, but the tranny still can, so this'll wear out the tranny much more quickly.

Any advice?
Tony

The motor mounts usually wear better then the tranny mount. Most f-bodys' will go through a few tranny mounts sometime during thier life. That is if you replace them with stock GM rubber ones. The tranny and engine can still rock even with your new mounts. They won't do it as bad with the new poly mounts but it is cheap insurance to change it out.

Plus its nice to know that for for the 20 bucks or so it costs for a poly trans mount, you can be assured you will never have to change it again. I dont think those poly mounts ever wear out do they?

Eventually, but they will probably outlive your car.

agreed. YOU probably will never replace those mounts... your grandson might, though.
