Bushed Rods or Pressed Fit????

ok, im upgrading my 350 to a 383 so right now im kinda confussed on picking rods. I have the stock ones on right now and want to get rid of the and get some 4340 forged ones. But i dont know if i need bushed or pressed fit. I have a '93 350 block with the original rods and kieth black pistons. Does it matter which ones i get? i Know the bushed ones cost a little more but will they both fit on my pistons or do i have to get a certain one? Im in need of some rods a.s.a.p. so your guys input will help out greatly. Thanks

if you get bushed rods you'll need floating pin pistons. it really depends on what pistons you have. 99% of the time you wouldn't want a floating piston.

so since i have the stock rods with the kieth black pistons, most likely those are pressed fit? Another words i should just stick with the pressed fit....

Stock rods are pressed (actually, shrunk) fit.

Most high-perf rods, such as would be made of 4340, would be bushed for floaters; but many can be had either way.

You can buy pistons set up for floating, but use them in a press-fit situation.

Most street applications would be fine with pressed.
