Waterpumps, reverse rotation?
91 camaro RS 305 TBI, serpintine belt system. That's reverse rotation right? If so what are my options other than edelbrock. What is the stock number for a stock replacement.

A stewart water pump. www.stewartcomponents.com
Take a look there, you can find what you need. If it asks, you have the 'long' style water pump.
Edelbrock pumps suck if they are still using the cheap bearing that was in the last ones I got. I have a hard time accepting their story too, which was BS. If you want to pay $150+ for a pump with a chinese bearing that I got to last 1 minute before it wiped itself out (that was the best time out of 3) then by all means go ahead and get an Edelcrap.

If your looking for new pump, try going to the dealer. Ask for the one that goes on the Vettes. It's reverse rotation, aluminum, and it should fit. At least that is what I heard and it only costs around $70. Hope that helps!

I have an edelbrock water pump and it works excellent. Never had a problem...I replaced the stock water pump two times in about 6 monthes with a pump from auto zone..stay away from that one..it's horrible.

When did you get the edelcrap?
I purchased one in 94, and it worked fine. I got another in 96, and another, and another... all 3 of those were junk, they were using a chinese NTN bearing, not the US made Pioneer bearing they insisted was in it. I sold parts for years, so I know where it came from and what plant, including the city. After the silence on the phone they asked me to send it back for a full refund.
I bought an edelbrock manifold a year ago, Performer RPM. It was machined wrong I came to find out. I wasnt sure why it didnt fit my car right until I threw a gasket on BOTH sides (I had checked only the driver side to see how the ports lined up to the gasket) and found out the holes were about 1/4" off.
I have no faith in their junk anymore.

I got it about a year ago. Honestly, I think the quality control in most companies has gone down considerably in the last few years. I guess you just have to get lucky with what you are getting these days and hope you don't have any problems.

Well maybe they took my advice and went back to a real bearing... Im not gonna go and find out the hard way though, no thanks.
Ive heard lots of good things about the stewart pump. When I get another aluminum pump, thats who I am getting it from.

Regarding CraZ-28 and the 'vette pump.
The 'vette pump used the short water pump design and will not work since we use longs.

I've got a Stewart pump in my 89 IROC. No problems in nearly two years of operation; I like the design. The increased flow capacity over the stock pump is definitely a good feature while I'm running around the sun-baked Oklahoma praries.

Yeah, I'm using the Stewart Stage 1 pump as well. $69. Real happy w/ it. Helped out the cooling quite a bit, and I had already gone through like 3 NAPA rebuilt POS pumps...

Yet another vote for Stewart... I have one on the 400 in my 83, works far better than any stock one ever thought of. Don't go to the dealer whatever you do, that's got to be the most expensive possible way to get the same old crap.
They come either natural aluminum, or partially polished, or fully polished.
See madmax's post for the web address.
BTW I notice you're from El Cajon.... got you ark built yet? Up here the storm drains are overflowing.

Thanks guys, I didn't think edelbrock was the only company. It's just they're the only ones that advertise a ccw pump. Now what stage? I'm thinking the 2nd stage since it's going to be on a 380hp vortec headed 350. What do you guys think?
