The best solution I can think of right now would be to cut an access hole in the side of the frame, drill out the stripped hole and use a larger sized nut & bolt combination with hardened washers on both sides.

good luck

V6,

If you have a clear access, you can drill, retap, and stake in a thread insert to the weld nut in the subframe channel. The steel thread inserts with staking pins are fairly substantial.

Another option would be to tap to the next size bolt (possible metric), enlarge the clearance hole in the crossmember, and use a larger bolt.

i ran with mine like that for a while...no probs for a while...then it felt like the mount was broken...the tranny would thump when i gunned it. you could try thread repair kits....or tap it like vader said. but the thread repair kit is temporary and only has the strength of stage 5. luckily i got a different rebuilt tranny...so the thread thing was no problem.

To fix it right you'll have to do like several people have suggested. Tap, drill and thread for the next larger size.
