Possessed Tach?!?!??!!??!?!?!?!?!

My tachometer has lost it. It is bouncing everywhere. The last time this happened the timing was off. I checked and the distributor has not moved. the car is also taking extended cranking to start. my friend said that that usually means the timing chain is loose. is the hard start a symptom?? it is also not running very well at all. should i check the chain?? If so, HOW???

Check your distributor cap and coil.

Check the connector that you unplug to check timing. It's a single wire next to the computer on passenger side. If its loose timing will change.

my tach started jumping all over the place when my alternator went out or started going out.. when i would go wot it would go right to 0 rmp then jump to where ever it wanted to. maybe this isnt your problem but it was mine.. just my .02 worth
