Tips on sealing a one piece oil pan gasket
Tips on sealing a one piece oil pan gasket
I changed my one piece oil pan gasket and it still weeps in the rear. They claim the new ones are fool proof but I guess they didn't count on someone like me actually working on a car. I put small dabs of silicone in the corners but that didn't seem to make a difference. Any suggestions from a GM tech would be appreciated. How do you ensure that new gasket you put on a paying customers car doesn't leak?
They say the third time is the charm.

I work for a GM dealer, just make sure the pan and block are really clean and I usually run a bead of *** 'y adhesive on top and bottom of the gasket. The *** 'y adhesive is great, the pn is 12346141, get it from a dealer, it's about $9.00 a tube. Good LUck.

Hey Kyle don't forget to use that *** 'y sealer when you're installing a pet**** in your radiator!
