'84, do you have emission laws where you live? Visual or sniff? I put a Comp in my '82 LG4 in '88 and have since moved the cam to another engine and the LG4 with a bigger cam into my 83. Anyways, that cam rocked. But it did'nt really come alive untill the emissions were gone. But it did work really good with the engine in stock form. I saw the cam card in a box of parts in the garage. I'll look for it. Might take till weekend.

Well, I live in rural Ohio, and we only have random vehicle inspections. That means, they set up stations on the freeway and do a complete inspection of your car. I have never been thrugh one of those, but i doubt if they have time to do an emissions test. I took the smog pump off, and I am probably going to get headers. But since I took off my smog, I'm allready illegal so that dosent matter. About how much does a comp cam cost, and where is the cheapest place to get one? Thanks

I'd suggest a Comp XE262H. Several people on this board have that cam and report good results.
As far as sources, Jeg's and Summit and the other mail-order places are cheap, but you have to add shipping. Your local speed shop might be able to beat them after it's all added up. You should be able to get the cam and lifters for about $160-170. I'd strongly recommend replacing the valve springs and the rocker arms too. Use Comp's 1.52 roller-tip rockers.
The biggest performance bottleneck in the LG4 os the exhaust, all the way from teh heads to the street. The Edelbrock TES works well on it, except you should get the ones for a L69 or L98, and the matching cat-back from them or someone else at the same time. Dynomax makes a good quality inexpensive exhaust system. With the stock exhaust still there, you won't get near the full benefit of any cam you pick.
