305 Boggin' Big time!
First timer here. I have an 87 Trans Am. No mods, everything is stock. I've had the car for 8 years. But just before I parked her last year, she starting boggin' out when I mashed on the gas. No matter what gear, what rpm, when I floor it hard, it sounds like it's choking, it will do this for about 2-3 seconds and then begin to accelerate. While it's accelerating, its fine and smooth.
Any ideas?
Thanks

yeah dude i would check the fuel filter. Mine did the same thing in second gear and i had to let up the gas and shift up. Now when i changed it my car screams in every gear and goes forever, it was like a totally different car. Funny thing was that this was happening for like 1 year until i finally realized to change it.

I'll beg to differ. If it was fuel delivery, it would be fine at first and die out as RPMs increase.
Sounds like q-jet bog to me (I assume it's an LG4 with a carb, VIN code H - you never said). That is caused by the secondary "air valve", or AV, opening too quickly. Two things control that, the choke pull-off (believe it or not - it also has a link to the AV), and the AV tension spring. Since this is something that developed over time, rather than something it's always done, I'd suspect your choke pull-off has died. Not at all uncommon, and replacements are commonly available, cheap.
Read the Tech Article on q-jet performance. It tells how to adjust the AV tension.
But, you need both. If you try to adjust it with only one (pull-off or AV tension), it'll never work right.
