shifter for a 89 formula????? vader,.. god help!!!
ok the question is i have a 89 formula and cant see exactly how to put in the famed " console mega shifter!??" b&m and every mail order place has listed in theyre catalogs for 82-92 cmaro and firebird exc.88-92 formula. why? so i went to theyre web site and emailed them still no answers on this subject!!! im at the end of the damn line i need some help with this tricky problem!!! anyways around and how to installin a 89 formula would be greatly apprteciated!!! also whats different about the 88-92 formula setup???

1989 firebird formula
Mods: converted from T.B.I. to a carburator 305 to a 350. Flowmater exhaust,hedman shortie hedders,202 160 (882) heads,.447/.447 lift 222@.050 duration speed pro 327/350hp cam 350 .40 over (356) edlebrock performer rpm intake and a 600 edlebrock manual choke (1405) Proform H.O. distributor slightly revised 700r-4
Future mods comp extreme energy roller cam, world products sportsman 2 heads, msd 6al ignition, billet distributor, blaster 2 coil and a 406 engine is in the works soon!!!!

I think aftermarket shifters look like crap. Anyway you are going to have to modify the console bigtime to get it to fit on a firebird.

not trying to start an argument here, but this happens all the time. does it make the problem seem more important to write 'vader.. so and so, so and so.. help!' are they the only ones that can answer questions on this board? granted they know alot.. but geez, they arent hte only ones who own these cars and mess with them.. and this isnt a 'everyone message vader, gmtech and whoever board' so why are messages directed at them? im offended when i see these, like my posts arent appreciated and (some) people would rather just have a one way convo with god. i mean.... vader. to attempt to answer your question, you did buy a megashifter? you may try calling b&m, i've never seen the inside of a formula fbird, but companies say most things are incompatible just because a small bit of fabrication/modding the inside is required, and most people (they believe) dont want or cant do it.. so they just say its not compatible.. but maby im dead wrong.
