What is wrong with timing?

Car: 87 Firebird (Hasselhoff special)
Engine: 2.8L of PURE STOCK POWER
What is wrong with timing?

My car is running the ****s right now. I ckecked the timing and its at about 24*. Ok, so I'll adjust it. I disconnect the est wire and suprise! timing goes to 10* What do I do now?

Your balancer might have slipped. That can be really hard to spot. Check the rubber and see if its moved. Sometimes balancers have marks that should line up but you can see theyve moved a little. Or you can just try moving you timing around till you get it to run how you want.

On the other hand it might not even be timing related. Some more info on how its running and why you think its timing would be helpfull.

That's exactly what it should do. Sounds like it's time for a tuneup.
