350 vs 305's
350 vs 305's
Hi, newbie here, I've got lots of questions.
I've been thinking about getting a 3rd gen v8 Camaro but am not sure if I should look for one with a 305 or a 350. I live where the summers are warm and the winters are cold and snowy, so drivabiity in all weather is an issue.
How is the fuel injection systems on these cars? Reliable? Problematic?
Is the 305 more or less reliable that the 350? -- this is important.
I've got more questions, but this is a start, any and all info will help!

I am a big supporter of the 305 but if I were looking to buy a car now I would look for one with a 350. It depends on what your intensions are with this car. Are you looking for all speed? Are you going to do a lot of mods?

You can get almost the same amount of power out of both....but the reason most people say go 350 is because for the same amount of money you spend you will get about 50 more hp with the 350. The bigger the motor, the cheaper the power. Thats why riceys have to put like 10 grand under just the hood to get into the 13's.
The old saying....There is no replacement for displacement.

Just looking to cruise
Thanks guys,
I not looking to go real fast, just something that I can have fun with (and make it up the stinkin' hills!) I drive a little Toyota 4x4 with the 4 cylinder -- reliable but gutless, so anything's going to be an improvement.
How do these car do in the winter? (snow, ice, cold start, etc)

The trick is not to go hog wild with your camshaft choice. The wilder the cam the worse its low rpm performance and when it's -20* C that can stop your engine from starting.
A 350 will run just as well, BTW.
