Timing

hey guys with the mods i have in my sig amd that cam on an LG4... where should my timing be set at? i have it at 8 advanced right now.. should i go farther or no? also i just got a fuld pressure gauge and regulator... at idle im getting 3 psi... something wrong here this is a brand new fuel pump.. any recomendations on a farily low priced fuel pump that will provide my motor at about 6psi at idle? thanks

if it were mine i would run it @ 8-10* with 32-35* max advance. but thats just my opinion.get any after market like holly or edel that are rated at 6-8 psi that should do it if you think u need it.

well i am sure i would neet it... 3 psi at idle is way to low isnt it... i was recomended to use 5-6 psi at idle with the regulator capped off at 6psi... does this sound correct?

3 psi at idle is fine. Carbs don't need fuel pressure, they need fuel flow. As long as there's enough pressure to make enough fuel flow the right way (out of the line and into the fuel bowl), then it's enough. In fact lower is better, as long as flow requirements are met.

You don't need 6 psi.

What is the car doing that makes you think the fuel pressure is low? Anything at all? If it works OK, then ..... it's OK.

well just because all lg4s are said to have under performing fuel pumps that can barely flow enough to a quadrajet.
