Weird.. Surging.. or something
My car has been acting weird, lately..
At around.. 30 mph(or a bit less) if I give it a little bit of gas, the car jerks like crazy.. It feels like the rear wheels are just going to come lose.... but above that speed, and it seems normal (which might not be fine, heh)
the same thing occurs during braking, also ... right before the car stops, it feels like it's going to break loose, and lunge forward... the RPM needle seems to flop all around, when this occurs. It bounces up and down, around a 200-400 rpm range...
I noticed this YESTERDAY, I was behind a van that was going 30 in a 45, and the car was just shaking like crazy... it got REALLY bad. It seemed to do it more often than it does today..
any thoughts?

Year/engine/transmission?
If it's an auto, you may be experiencing TCC shifting. Or, is it a lot more forceful a lunge than that? TCC programming on some earlier autos was in at 28 MPH minimum, 41 MPH normal. Downshift was as low as 10 MPH.

I don't know about that up down forward back thing, but i had the same lunging problem and it was a defective MAF. I doubt that's the problem you're describing but you might have a couple of problems. You can just check that by unplugging the connector to it and seeing if it does the same thing.
