weird sweat smell

i have been getting a sweet smell from my exhaust after everything is hot 15 20 mins of running. Ive had the new cat and headers on for about a month so i dont think its those... any help would be appreciated guys...thnx

Sounds like antifreeze in the combustion products.

combustion products...could it be when i changed the intake..a little spillage happened but that was well over 3 weeks ago..

When you open the engine like that, you should change the oil shortly thereafter.

There's no direct path for coolant to get to the intake tract by gasket leakage. Coolant going to the oil won't make the exhaust smell sweet, although it will turn the oil milky.

Cracked head is the most likely source for the coolant.

or if your lucky a blown/leaking head gasket, or really unlucky a cracked block.

Could it be a heater hose leak dripping coolant and running onto exhaust? check your clamps. I get an intermittant drip from the Prestone heater hose T fitting that drips to my exhaust manifold that sends a nice bit of steam up from the corner of the hood when stopped at a light.
