383 stroker (built ZZ4)
going with about 10:1 compression
3000+/- stall speed
3.73 rear gears
Assuming the heads support the cam, which of these 2 solid rollers is the best match. I want streetability, not afraid to use vacuum assist or a canister. Both are Xtreme Energy profiles.
the first cam is the XR280r:
280/286 adv. duration
242/248 @ .050"
.571/.577 with 1.5 ratio
110 LSA
The other is a custom grind (XE lobes)
280/292 adv. duration
242/254 @ .050"
.571/.583 with 1.5 ratio
113 LSA
I dont feel like changing the gears or the compression. i called comp and said depending on the engine size, the custom grind is about 2800-6800. Could be 3000-7000. With the above build, which cam would best suit my needs. Im planning on using nitrous. remember, i need streetability. I have MY ideas, but id like input.

Between those 2, it's a no-brainer... the one with the larger exhaust lobe and the wider LSA. I don't see a major streetability difference between the 2; the 2nd will idle a little better, but the first will make a little more torque at a lower RPM.

when you say streetability, what exactly do you mean? is it just "if i can run enough power brakes to stop" streetable, or what?

by streetability, i mean, i dont want to have to stall to high heaven. It has to survive daily light-to-light at times, but be able to hold its own on the e-way. im not afraid to run a vacuum can for brakes, but i want enough vacuum to not be forced into an electric pump. Looks like the latter cam is my choice.
