Ok.....My car (83 Z28 350 4bbl)has been sitting for about 2 months...before that it would get hot start knocking and then lose power until it cooled off. I parked it couldn't work on it, anyways I finally started it up and my radiator was empty but there was no leaks outside and when it started it all this grey white smoke started to come out of the exhaust. I figured there was a gasket leak or sum'n but the car is run'n fine. If the smoke is coming out real bad would it be the Head Gasket or Intake Manifold Gasket since there doesn't feel like any compression lose. Any help would be great.
Thx

Thats sounds ok but if it was a cracked head wouldn't the compression be off and it wouldn't even run ??? and I've spun a bearing before on the previous motor in it, it was the stock 305 previous owner did a sorry azz rebuild job. But i dont think anything was wrong in the crank case though. Thats why I was thinking it was a gasket leak but just not sure.

have you checked the compression? I had a 327 that ran a long time with a warped head,,,,try this
As for the compression test, you first run all the cylinders in the normal fashion (all plugs out, coil disabled, choke and throttle held full open, crank each cylinder until max pressure reached, record each cylinder's pressure, etc.). That's the dry test. Then, you put a tablespoon or so of oil in the cylinders through the spark plug holes, turn the engine over a few times to spread it around the cylinder, and then repeat the compression test. If the rings are worn, the oil will tend to enhance the seal and raise the compression pressure significantly from the dry test. You have to do both in order for the wet test to have any meaning. If the dry test numbers are close cylinder-to-cylinder and where they should be (say 150 psi), and no significant change to the dry test, then everything's fine. If the dry test is low and the wet test is low, then you have valve sealing problems.

Yup shes running stronger than before (I replaced and checked both sides to be safe). Didn't really run her too hard while she was smoking so thats why I guess nothing serious really happend. But its all good for now. THNX
